Healthwatch's Dental Report makes an Impact in Herefordshire
Healthwatch has helped NHS England and NHS Improvement understand people’s current experiences of accessing dental care in Herefordshire and their thoughts about future commissioning plans.
Healthwatch undertook enagement work to identify what key elements were important to people when accessing dental care. Focus groups were also introduced to the new commissioning approach.
675 people responded to Healthwatch’s survey and whilst attendance at focus groups was low, there were helpful conversations and possible solutions explored. Healthwatch’s report has been commended by NHS England and NHS Improvement and they will be using the findings to assist in developing a procurement plan to commission a large additional practice in Hereford city starting in the autumn.
