In 2020 Healthwatch spoke to 172 people about their experience of falls and their understanding of measures to prevent them. We also gathered views about their feelings on social isolation.

Falls Prevention & Social Isolation

  • Following consultation with Herefordshire Public Health team, Falls Prevention & Social Isolation was highlighted as a topic they would like public engagement on.
  • 172 surveys were completed.
  • Key findings included that more falls were being reported at home and many people were not being fully aware of the services available to help them. It highlighted a need for the public to help themselves with the right support at a pre-frailty stage.
